Who is Joe
Joseph Millette is the Sr. External UAS Pilot and Safety Analyst at New Mexico State University’s Unmanned Aircraft Systems Flight Test Site (NMSU UAS FTS). Mr. Millette started his career as a UAS External Pilot in 2006. He now has over 2000 hrs. of flight time in various UAS. Mr. Millette is certified on multiple platforms including the Nav-Air Tigershark, Aeronautics Systems Aerostar, and many small UAS. Along with his UAS experience, Mr. Millette is a Licensed Commercial Pilot with an Instrument Rating on Single Engine and Multi- Engine Aircraft.
Mr. Millette has gained operational experience in multiple theaters including Afghanistan, Israel, and Iraq in support of US Forces. Along with his professional experience, Mr. Millette is an experienced Remote Control (R/C) Hobbyist with over 29 yrs. experience flying and building model aircraft ranging in size and type including small park fliers, large scale models, and helicopters. Mr. Millette also builds, operates, and tests D.I.Y. Autonomous Aircraft (sUAS) that range in types including multi-motors, helicopters, and fixed wing designed for aerial terrain mapping. |
